KEAUKAHA GENERAL STORE - HOLOMUA SCHOLARSHIP

Keaukaha General Store is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a deserving local graduate that embodies Holomua, which means to "Improve, Progress and Move Forward."

As local high school seniors graduate and continue on to higher education, Keaukaha General Store wants to encourage young leaders to look at issues in the community and prompt them to think of ways to help and improve where they come from. As these graduates embark on new paths as young adults, this is an important reminder of their roots and how their efforts will reflect and contribute to the community that molded them.

HAWAII RISE FOUNDATION - RACHEL GANGWES SCHOLARSHIP

Hawaii Rise Foundation, in partnership with Kealani Gangwes is offering a $1,000 scholarship in memory of her late sister, Rachel Leilani Gangwes. Rachel was born with Edwards Syndrome (Trisomy 18), and while most children do not live past their first birthday, Rachel perservered overwhelming odds to bless her family, friends, and community with eighteen years of love and joy. Rachel reminded everyone that every day is a gift with which you must do your best to uplift others, through words and actions.

This scholarship will be awarded to the applicant that most embodies Mohala, which means to bloom, shine forth and develop; as Rachel inspired others to, and as our young leaders should endeavor to as they move forward in their academic journies while continuing to give back to their communities.

HAWAII RISE FOUNDATION - PULELEHUA SCHOLARSHIP

Hawaii Rise Foundation, in partnership with Mana and Keilah Silva, is offering a $500 scholarship to a deserving local graduate intending to pursue a career in medicine. The Pulelehua Scholarship is named after the youngest of the Silvas' three children , all of whom required critical required critical care at birth and in the early stages of their lives.
The Silvas recognize and appreciate the many medical professionals  that cared for and helped their keiki grow strong and healthy; and would like to give a local student the opportunity to follow a similar path to helping other families through medicine and contribute to the overall health of the community.
